The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said on Tuesday that 25,247 spectators entered the three games of the "2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League," bringing the total number of spectators to 2,005,371 in 118 games. This is the highest number of games recorded in 126 games since 2012, when the number of spectators exceeded 2 million.
This year's KBO League has already exceeded 1 million spectators in its history at least. It shortened 65 games in 2012 by five games after 60 games on Saturday. In 2012, there were positive returns for Park Chan-ho and Kim Byung-hyun, who played in the Major League, and current Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop, who played in the Japanese league.
LG, which is ranking first, attracted the most spectators this year with 328,879, followed by Samsung with 319,055. SSG (231,191), Doosan (221,814), and Lotte (204,280) also attracted more than 200,000 spectators.
The average attendance amounted to 16,995 through Tuesday, up 19 percent from last year when the number of spectators exceeded 10 million for the first time in history. LG ranks first with 22,920 in average attendance, followed by Samsung with 22,790 in average attendance. Doosan is in third place with 20,165.
Of the 118 games, 50 games, or more than 40 percent, were sold out. LG sold out 12 times out of 14 home games, Samsung sold out nine times, and Hanwha, which uses its new stadium as its home ground, sold out eight times.
